Dr. Arunasish Layek had Joined Adamas University in November 2017 as an assistant professor in the Department of Chemistry under School of Science. He has obtained his B. Sc. Degree (Chemistry Hons.) from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata (under Calcutta University). He has completed his Master degree from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. His dissertation thesis entitled ‘Preparation, characterization and catalytic activity of Vanadium and Uranium based nanostructured materials in mesoporous molecular sieve host’ under the supervision of Prof. P. Selvam. He has achieved his doctoral degree from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, under the supervision of Prof. Arindam Chowdhury (Thesis title: Synthesis, carrier dynamics, and spectrally resolved photoluminescence imaging of individual semiconductor nanocrystals). After the doctoral research, Dr. Layek had worked in Prof. Pavleradovanovic’s group at University of Waterloo, Canada as postdoctoral researcher (2012-2014). After that he joined Prof. MarteenRoeffaer’s group at KU Leuven, (2015-2017) where he worked in the area of single molecule- single turn over sensitive super resolution microscopy to explore the nanoscale structure function relation in acid zeolites. He had published 18 research papers in international peer reviewed journals till date and He has diverse research interests in the fields of single molecule fluorescence microscopy and spectroscopy of quantum dots, doped nanomaterials, solid state light emitting phosphor materials, super-resolution fluorescence microscopy, heterogeneous catalysis of porous zeolites, nanomaterials.
